Plastination Technology

"Plastination Technology“

Beyond their utility in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, plastinates have gained prominence in regional anatomy research, thus filling the gap between the gross anatomical and histological level. As establishing and maintaining plastination facilities remains a challenging and costly task, its utility needs to be carefully evaluated for given research and teaching themes. This Plastination Technology Workshop aims to give an overview of commonly-used techniques, namely silicone- and epoxy-based plastination. Participants will be given a unique hands-on experience at the premises of the plastination facilities of the Med Uni Graz, led by renowned international instructors. No previous experience is required.
